Chapter 44
- Fiona’s POV
- I could barely concentrate on anything Mrs. Ashton had said during the lecture, too distracted from Kai’s drawing those lazy abstract patterns on my skin, tracing and discovering places I never knew were as sensitive, and a bit distressed from Jin’s oppressive gaze shooting daggers at me. I wondered if Kai noticed. He must have. There was no way he couldn’t. And if that were the case why continue, knowing fully well the level of Jin’s wrath.
- I stared unseeingly at the book in front me, willing my brain to concentrate but it was futile. Kai became increasingly daring with each minute that passed, skimming his fingers over the length of my arm all the same maintaining the façade of utter calm while I was left languishing in want and neediness.
