Chapter 27

  • Fiona’s POV
  • I ran like my life depended on it, dodging every obstacle blocking my way despite the surprise stares I got and the irritated insults hurled my way while occasionally looking back to see if I was being chased by Lyn or Kai. But mostly Lyn; I wouldn’t have objected if it were Kai chasing after me. Yes, I’m a simp and I refuse to apologize for it. I mean why should I? Kai was the only person who has seen me as something more than low level trash. With him I felt whole… different even.
  • I’m the course of my flight, I bumped face flat against a solid surface with muted ‘oof’. For some reason I smelled a familiar scent which I couldn’t place at the moment because of the anxiety of being caught by Lyn. A hand automatically wrapped around my waist with an attempt to steady my body. “Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry for bumping into you. Are you hurt?” I asked, checking for and damage and paled immediately at the sight of make up smeared on the pristine white shirt. “Oh fuck, uhm…. Okay, that was an accident, I apologize. It’s my fault for not looking and running in a crowded place.” I said, automatically reaching for my purse for my wallet, still refusing to look up to the person I had bumped into as embarrassment stung my cheeks. “Here. Let me pay for the dry cleaning. It’s the least I can do. Besides that shirt looks wildly expensive.”
