Chapter 37

  • Fiona’s POV
  • I didn’t have the chance to speak to Kai as I was rudely yanked away by his raging dickhead of a friend who dragged me into an empty classroom —there always seemed to be more of those nowadays whenever I was alone with him, it was fucking bizarre—and slammed me hard against the locked door, blocking my view of anything with his body.
  • His dark eyes seemed bottomless like a black hole, only it was filled with acrimony and fury, and yet when he spoke, it was deadly calm and deceptively soft. His body was tensed up in his anger and the heat radiating off him was scalding in its intensity. Memories of that time in the tiny restroom stall filled my brain, and I immediately felt ill, fighting back the crippling panic and anxiety trying to rear its ugly head.
