Chapter 30
- Fiona’s POV
- The moment I walked out from the restroom and Jin’s oppressive presence, I heaved a sigh of relief. It felt like the burden I’ve been carrying in my heart for most of my life had lessened, allowing me to breathe. It felt good honestly to get rid of that weight and it felt absolutely divine to tell Jin where exactly he could stick it. So why did my chest feel heavy and why does my feel heavy with each step I took as I stepped into the open. The campus was nearly desolate, a shadow of its usual lively self. The golden glow of the lampposts stretched long shadows across the cobblestone paths, their light reflecting faintly on the colorful leaves of the trees.
- It was well past dinner time now, the quiet environment was only punctuated by the occasional shuffle of hurried footsteps. A few students, clutching armfuls of books or hastily zipped backpacks, darted toward the library like moths drawn to a flickering flame. Others moved with measured steps, murmuring softly as they made their way to the study halls for late-night cramming sessions.
