Chapter 14
- Fiona’s POV
- With Jin’s threat hanging between us like an oppressive fog, I remained silent, zoning out Jin’s presence, zoning out the fear and anxiety crippling me, and stared outside to the scenery zooming past us. I was tired and the urge to speak wasn’t there. My mind revisited the scene in the kitchen and the party last night, replaying everything until it merged into a dizzying blur that left me reeling. Or maybe it was just my exhaustion talking.
- I thought about getting a quick shut-eye then remembered who I was in the car with and thought better of it. There was no telling what was going through that bleak mind of his and I wanted nothing more than to get to school in one piece, both physically and mentally. But the ambience and silence of the car was so soothing and comforting that I let my drooping eyelids slide close.
