Chapter 48 Marcus's Jealousy

• Marcus sat in the car, dressed in a black tuxedo, watching the store across the street. He stared at it for a long time; he had just seen Alessia enter the shop and wished he could stop, touch her, and explain himself to her, but he lacked the guts to do so. He was unsure how she would respond if he approached her after a month. For the the past few weeks, he had missed her. He felt as if he had lost a part of him when he watched her leave without stopping her.
• Marcus wasn't sure how long he'd been staring at the shop, but his patience was wearing thin as he grew annoyed at not being able to catch a glimpse of her.
• He remembered her face becoming pale when he told her that she was a mistake. She tried to explain that she didn't know who the man was, but he was too upset to believe her. He had looked at her with disgust, wanting to believe her, but remembering what the humans had done to his parents and how deceitful they can be, he couldn't help but think of her that way the moment he saw her holding hands with the hunter. He had listened to her explanation, but would his pack do the same? What would they think of an Alpha who prioritises a human word over their own safety?
