Chapter 3 The Human Girl 2

  • The following day.
  • Alessia sat up quickly from the bed. Her eyelids were still tired, but she had to get ready for her first day at her new job. She yawned loudly as she got out of bed and ran her fingers through her unkempt hair. She grumbled since she was still tired but needed to get dressed. Her eyes widened in surprise as she examined the wall clock: it was 8:30 a.m and she was supposed to resume work at 9:00 a.m.
  • She went to an interview in Walter's Enterprise last week and fortunately for her, she was hired as the office interior designer and her duty was to make sure the offices had comfortable and healthy furniture. She was sure going to love her new job.
  • She dashed to the bathroom, brushing her teeth and taking a bath. How did she manage to sleep that much? And, Zelda didn't even bother waking her up! Then, she remembered Zelda had fallen asleep so drunk last night and would wake up with a hangover. She hurriedly dried her hair with a towel after finishing her bath and picked up a formal knee-length white pencil skirt and light blue blouse. After putting on her clothes, she stared at herself in the mirror and gave a kind smile and she was good to go!
  • She was so excited about her new job or maybe because it has been a long time since she had worked in a big company before. She rushed out of her room and bumped into Zelda who was also coming out of her own room.
  • " Finally the party girl is awake! I've to get to work because I'm running late. See you later and make sure you take some painkillers. " She said and quickly went to the kitchen to fetch herself a glass of water.
  • " You're really leaving me at home. I feel like my head is about to explode, I'm never going to drink myself to stupor ever again. " She grumbled as she walked into the kitchen and sat on the mini-bench.
  • " Keep on kidding yourself! Goodbye. " Alessia said and bolted out of the house to the garage as she got into her outdated Camry, she ignited the engine and drove off.
  • ***
  • Marcus couldn't help but fume in anger in his car as he had to wait in the traffic. He stared out the window and watched the weak humans going about their boring lives as he drove. He owned one of the biggest technical companies in the whole city and worked alongside humans, yet he still felt great hatred for them. Watching them in disgust, as some walked on the pedestrian lane and some in their cars making unpleasant noises with the horn of their cars. The traffic was horrible today when suddenly a little outdated Camry cut him off before he could overtake the car in front of him, he groaned at the audacity of a human to overtake him.
  • He revved his engine and drove off in speed passing the Camry as he overtook the small car.
  • As he pulled into the carpack of his company, he got out of his Mercedes Benz and closed the door, staring at the tall building standing tall in its full glory. He was back in the company after being away for two weeks.
  • He majestically made his way into the building as he passed through the reception and he could feel the penetrating gazes of those annoying humans on him as he passed through, he walked into the elevator and pressed the button to the floor he was going to and the door was about closing only for him to hear the sounds of a female breathing and clicking of heels on the tiles, he looked up and his eyes met with those big brown eyes and he felt his heart skipping a beat. What was she doing here?! His wolf yelled the word "mate" in his mind and tried to take control of his human body, not so that he shifted but so that he could talk instead of his human, he could feel his hand sweating as his wolf was about to take over his body, the feeling of want and he was undeniably drawn to her and he knew she feel the same because of the way she stared at him, she must be shocked seeing him again. But before they could both come back to reality, the door to the elevator closed and all Marcus could do was watch the closed doors in confusion and anger.
  • Why the hell would a human be his mate, was it a mistake? But he knew it wasn't a mistake and a human truly was his mate. How could Goddess Selene do this to him after knowing he despises the humans with all his heart?
  • Alessia stood dumbfounded by the scenario that had just happened. She had just seen the same dangerous man from last night in the company she was going to start working in. Could it be a coincidence?! Or he was actually stalking her?! Though, she wouldn't deny the fact that he was devilishly handsome and his face was an example of perfection but she couldn't help the fact that she still felt affected by his gaze and quickly rushed into the next empty elevator.
  • Getting to the floor where her department was located, she was led to her new private office by a secretary and was amazed by how beautiful her office was. She also got introduced to other employees and got some polite remarks from others and while some just sneered at her, she honestly had no idea why.
  • Hours later......
  • Marcus wasn't able to get his mind focused on the work he had to do because his mind kept drifting to her. In particular those big brown eyes that stared at him in shock. If this human truly was his mate then he would have no choice but to reject her and ask for another mate which he hopes Goddess Selene would grant him.
  • Duncan walked into the office as he was surprised to see his Alpha deep in thought, he couldn't believe his eyes.
  • "The vampires are trying to block our parts." He said and this made Marcus raise his head up as his eyes darkened at the mention of vampires.
  • "Get straight to the point." He demanded.
  • "Kane is in the human world and he's going to be taking some humans with him." He replied.
  • "Wasn't he supposed to still be in his coffin for the next ten years? Why is he awake?!" Marcus asked, annoyed.
  • Marcus and Kane had been enemies for many years, ever since the day that Kane took off instead of helping him, but upon hearing Kane was in the human world he felt his anger building up.
  • To be continued...
