Chapter 2 The Human Girl

  • Alpha Marcus rushed to Gunnar's side, but as soon as he got there he could smell the silver that was coming from his open wound, which could explain why he wasn't healing. Pack members were desperately trying to stop the bleeding, but they were unsuccessful and in the end Gunnar told them to stop. He knew there was no use in trying because of the silver poisoning his body. Alpha Marcus stepped forward and took hold of Gunnar's hand, hoping to ease his pain slightly, but in the end Gunnar had lost so much blood that he died in his Alpha's arms.
  • The death of Gunnar shook almost everyone in the pack, as he was almost everyone's friend. Especially Marcus because he had just lost some of his pack members all because of those heartless humans, he had sworn to avenge Gunnar's death and the other pack members who died in the process.
  • The pack gathered together in their werewolves form as Alpha Marcus stood on the mountain, staring down at his pack, as the full moon shone brightly behind him.
  • He stood propped up on his hind paws, the pride of his heritage in his hearts as he howled to the moon in honour of goddess Selene, wishing for her to shower her blessings. The pack typically joined him in howling and it rises as the howl continues, creating an illusion that the pack was larger than it really is.

  • One week later.
  • Nevada; The City of Las Vegas
  • Dressed in a cool black T-shirt which is just bodycon type on his figure and making his body look more alluring, his long legs holding the blue trousers which is design with white straps on it and a stylish pair of shoes and crossing his legs as he was seated on a leather couch in one of the trending clubs in Las Vegas, Marcus couldn't help but sneer as he watched the humans dancing before him and having fun in disgust. He hated that he had to be in the same place as these disgusting beings who had killed a lot of his brothers and families and yet they were still dancing happily, some drunk to their asses while he was suffering from a bad mood for having to tolerate these weak beings, called humans!
  • Beside him, there was a man, named Duncan, he was also a werewolf, a member of Blue Water's pack and also a Beta, he is the only person Marcus considered has a friend or even a best friend. He was the only trusted friend of Marcus and he was also a slave, alongside Marcus and some other Omegas during the time of their egoistic Alpha, who does nothing but think about himself.
  • " You have to control your hate, if you keep on fuming, you might do the unthinkable and I wouldn't want that. I hate seeing these humans too but remember we're on a mission. " Duncan stated, trying to calm his friend's nerves.
  • While gulping down a glass of tequila, something caught his attention, it was a petite brunette girl dressed in a grey trousers and a baggy white top as she passed through the crowd of people dancing, she is so different and out of place in the club unlike other female humans who were dressed in skimpy gowns, but something about her sparked an unknown feeling in Marcus and it all seemed weird to him because he had never felt so...possessive and wanting to have someone. Her face was not clear enough but he watched every of her movements, as she constantly bites her lower lip and Marcus couldn't help but have the urge to feed on those lips.
  • An unknown force drew him to her as his gaze met with her eyes, she had big brown eyes and dark brown hair that suited her complexion very well. Her eyes looked like deep dark pools that reflected everything, including light. They gazed at each other and even though there was a large distance between them, the tension could still be felt and it was heating up not only the space between them, but the whole room. The heat between them didn't seem to stop, not until she shyly dropped her gaze, blinking her eyelashes profusely.
  • Alessia walked into the club in search of her best friend Zelda. She was welcomed by the sound of very loud music and sweaty people that were almost everywhere, grinding their bodies together. Everyone around looked almost wasted, only a few weren't.
  • She tried walking past the crowd that were dancing by avoiding bumping into someone or someone bumping into her. She wasn't used to all of this, as she was an introvert, so she stood at the bar as her eyes wandered round the crowd, hoping to get a glance of Zelda, but she was nowhere to be found. She became undeniably worried as to where she could be and hoped that nothing bad had happened to her. After all, she was at home when an unknown number called her, telling her that her friend was drunk and she had forgotten her house address. She had quickly stopped what she was doing and ran to this place as soon as the call ended.
  • But, not seeing her friend anywhere in sight made her even more worried but then she noticed a piercing gaze on her. She slowly raised her head up then her eyes met with his dark coloured eyes. She didn't understand why he was staring at her like that, as if he wanted to devour her. She could feel the intensity in their gaze, and the feelings she had never felt before began to build up so she decided to break the gaze as she was beginning to feel so nervous.
  • She quickly found a chance to walk away and she did, her phone rang and she immediately picked it up.
  • " I called to inform you that I already dropped your friend in her apartment. " And, the call ended. Alessia stared at the phone with a blank expression, she had thought he said Zelda couldn't remember their house address and she had come rushing here.
  • Not wanting to stay here any longer, she walked out of the club and hailed a cab. Meanwhile, Marcus had stood up and followed her till she boarded a cab, his wolf couldn't help but howl in excitement.
  • What the hell just happened?! He had an eye encounter with a human and he didn't give her his scary glare but instead he stared at her with great longing. Who was that human girl? And, why was his wolf excited over a mere human when he usually hated them?
  • To be continued...
