Chapter 3

  • Insisting that he not doze off again, she whipped out the lamp and shone it directly into his piercing blue eyes.
  • "No! I'm alright. Ernest Kesler is the name I go by. It's January 15th, 2017 today. Malcolm Turnbull is the current prime minister. "Amanda, a terrorist known as Amanda, is tormenting me until my rescuers come in her backyard," quickly and winced, as if his head was hurting from the exertion of speaking.
  • "I'm not a terrorist," she snapped at him.
  • When they come to accuse me of killing you instead of the other way around, I'll tell them you're dripping wet too, so change before they do, "he mumbled, sounding as fatigued as he felt himself. You save strangers in your jammies all the time, right?
  • Embarrassed by her attire now that he had pointed it out, she replied, "Sometimes I wear a fantastic cape, but I was in a hurry this morning!" She handed him her phone and said, "Here you go." Emergency services may be slow to respond, so she advised anybody who needed her advice to call and let them know she was still alive. "I'll go and fetch everything you need from the plane when the rain subsides a bit." Stay awake while I take a fast shower by talking to someone. "
  • Amanda was grateful for the opportunity to get away from the man in her living room. Not that she had never been in a relationship before, but Ernest Kesler was a completely new experience for her. It was her attempt to justify her feelings by telling herself that her heart was racing and her mouth was drying because she was assisting him. However, it was his piercing blue eyes and the way he stared at her that captivated her attention. Even though he was charming and laid-back, Amanda was well aware that she shouldn't fall for his enticing ways. For one thing, he was the eldest child of mining tycoon Brian Kesler, the richest man in the country for as long as she could remember.
  • In order to avoid the publicity that always seemed to follow the man, she had purposefully not told the emergency services his identity when he had crashed his jet into her greenhouse. He was the family prankster. Whenever he went out, he was photographed with models and actresses, and he was usually in the papers and magazines. However, his profession was not his claim to fame, and she didn't want to become embroiled in a scandal involving his playboy lifestyle, so she declined to speak with him.
  • While it was pleasant for her to be flirted with, even by someone she knew, she thought of the bright blue eyes and crooked smile that resurfaced in her thoughts. As she wiped the soap from her body, she indulged in a little daydream.
  • * ****
  • In Ernest's mind, he didn't want his brother to berate him for being irresponsible and reckless. If anybody could fly him out, it was his brother Wade, who was the only one who could get a helicopter in. He had difficulty since he didn't know where he was at any given moment.
  • Call back in fifteen minutes and she'll answer the phone, because she's taking a shower right now! Ernie snapped. "That's not why she's taking a shower; we didn't have sex!" Rain and water are wreaking havoc in our area, and she virtually lifted me out of the plane on her own. " His rage was escalating before his very eyes. Call me back in 10 minutes so I can ask her all of your stupid questions and get you out of here, okay? He slumped back in his chair, his shoulders slumping with him. "There is no doubt in my mind that we haven't forgotten our agreement." Unfortunately, I was unable to go to where I needed to go because of my computer malfunction. Is there a time and place for this? When my head hurts, it's not because I've been drinking. " He hung up the phone and threw it on a tiny coffee table nearby before eventually putting it down and going to sleep.
  • In contrast to the strident noises of most phones, the calm melodic notes of a harp lulled him to sleep rather than woke him when her phone called minutes later. He simply ignored it and drifted off to sleep. When she returned, he was oblivious to her talk with his brother. After all that had happened, he felt her delicate fingers gently brush his shoulder.
  • As she implored, "Ernest, wake up, please wake up," she was clearly concerned about his head injuries. In her angry exchange with Wade Kesler, who appeared more concerned about shielding the family from yet another controversy than his brother's health, she kept a close eye on him. She said she hadn't disclosed the pilot's identity to the emergency services, instead providing her name and phone number. In spite of his apparent safety, she said he was dazed from the incident, and while this made Wade feel better, he was still dubious of her intentions and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
  • While his eyes were closed, she imagined what it would be like to kiss those softly parted lips while he was asleep. It was hard to believe that he couldn't be awakened even if his heart rate and skin temperature were both normal, and reasoning said that he was OK. When she got closer, she reached out and shook his shoulder. I beg of you: "Ernest," I beg. Amanda begged the unconscious man to come out of his slumber.
  • He said, "I'm awake." In an amusingly crooked way, he smirked, "I was just waiting for the sleeping beauty wake-up kiss you promised me on the aircraft."
  • She yelled, "You crap!" What happened? I assumed you were in some kind of coma or anything like that!
  • The look of fear on her face made him apologise humbly.
  • You'll be taken to the hospital by someone sent by your brother. What is it that you require from your aircraft? " She inquired.
  • Don't return to the storm if you don't have anything essential, he warned.
  • As the rain subsides, it looks like it will soon be over. Keep your eyes open; they'll be here any minute now, okay? " In order to make sure Ernest understood her, Amanda looked into his eyes. His eyes were so blue that she couldn't bear to look away from them, so she jumped out of the room and ran away as fast as she could. She had to move away from him since the robe he was wearing was undone and exposed his chest and flat stomach. She wasn't fooling around. She was sure of it. A man like him wouldn't flirt with every woman he came across. Even if they resembled her, he probably couldn't resist. Her stepmother had observed her appearance, "tall and robust," and she was correct.
  • Amanda put on her boots and went out the back door to see the golden hue of the sun as it battled with the clouds for the best vantage point. The newest housing estates in the neighborhood now dominate the area's skyline, which used to be dominated solely by the trees of the neighbor's orchard. Strolling toward the plane, she drew a deep breath and ignored the damage to one of her greenhouses. While walking, her heart sank as she witnessed the depth of the devastation that she could not overlook as she had originally planned. As soon as her undesirable home guest was gone, she got into the aircraft to grab his luggage and glanced away from the situation.
