• Hannah paused for a short while before leading Edith away to hail a cab. Then, she waved her hand as Conan, who was looking at them intently. When they were gone, Conan turned to look at his father with an expressionless face and said, “Let’s go.”
• While Connor had a heart of stone and could be unfeeling even toward his own mother, Conan seemed to be the only exception, so the latter became his sole weakness despite the short amount of time since they got to know each other. Seeing Conan unhappy made him unhappy as well. Heaving a sigh, he followed behind Conan in silence.
• On their way home, Conan seemed to be in low spirits. Despite Connor’s multiple attempts to try to cheer him up, Conan didn’t even smile. Although Connor didn’t know what else he could do, he still didn’t change his mind. The whole point of assuming the role as Conan’s caretaker was to nurture a bond between them.
