Chapter 107 Seeing Connor Again

• Upon arrival at Langley Residence, Hannah asked the butler whether Connor was back, to which the latter gave a non-affirmative reply. Then, she headed to the bedroom, where she also saw no signs of Connor like what the butler said. Bewildered by his absence, she couldn’t help but wonder to herself, What’s going on? I thought he was looking for me, but he didn’t, and neither was he home. Where else could he be?
• It was at that moment that Hannah realized something was amiss. Connor isn’t that kind of irresponsible man who would just dump someone in the hotel for the night. Furthermore, the fact that he didn’t take his phone along with him shows that he was really leaving in a hurry. Could there be something urgent back in the office that requires his immediate attention? Wait a minute, that doesn’t sound right either. Why would he not say anything about it beforehand?
• Unnerved by the thought of that, Hannah anxiously paced back and forth with her phone in her hand. Soon, she decided to phone Reese and asked where Connor was, to which his assistant responded in a confused manner. “There is nothing urgent in the company, Miss Fairchild.”
