• A long moment passed with Ayana glaring at the impossible woman while Lyana enjoyed the meal that almost killed her mother from the inside. Why couldn’t the woman just understand and give what Ayana had ordered? Ayana felt a pang of irritation and anger rege within her. She could see just how the woman was demeaning her, and she hated that so much. She had no right to do that.
• “Don’t just look at me like that.” The woman scoffed after failing to stand Ayana’s gaze. “Just eat, and if it hurts to say thank you to someone who fed you, just don’t bother.”
