• “No? Why mommy?” Lyana asks.
• I walk closer, Robby’s eyes looking at me in disbelief. “That is because Robby still needs to attend to that something that he was attending to yesterday, baby,” I say, and I shift my gaze to Robby, our eyes locking as I trade a memo that I hope he understands clearly and obey. “He was just waiting for you to wake up so he can say hi and goodbye,” I finish, and I give him a half wink to warn him not to dare sell me off to my daughter or screw me up.
