• THE GOLDEN CHANCE
• Silence lingers in the air for a very long moment. My nerves went through a series of campounded reastions, from shock, disbelief, I even felt like this was some kind of comic and I had to restrain myself really hard from laughing. And finally, it went all flat. Yeah, I don’t feel any reaction, and those words, I blocked them from banging my head. There is no way these people can turn into saints or caring human beings overnight. So, what I thought I heard this man say is all a dream. A bad invalid dream.
• “Aren’t you happy?” I turn to this woman as she breaks the silence, her countance speaking nothing but disbelief and impatience. “Don’t you have anything at all to say to your father after such a golden chance that he is giving you even though you don’t deserve it?”
