Chapter 102
- BAD RECEPTION
- The drive has been swift and silent. No word has been said inside this car since we left the city. There was nothing but some buzz playing, even on a low key. I have anticipated the scenario that would happen if Robby were to see us all the way through, and I appreciate him not saying a word. At least he has not scrubbed that site I saw of him tonight.
- As we drive into the so-familiar neighborhood, my stomach churns with restlessness, knots of fear forming inside. It is already midnight, and that is not all. Adam is driving me home. I don’t know how I am going to explain my lateness to Robby since I could not come up with a better lie all drive through. His seeing Adam will evoke a catastrophe that will blow up everything remaining between us.
