• The next day, it was already late in the morning. I lay on my bed after taking a bath, scrolling through my phone. My thoughts drifted to the moment when Ella had caught a glimpse of what I was reading. I had foolishly forgotten to lock my phone screen, and she'd seen an article about seducing men. I had been so careless. The realization hit me hard—I needed to be more cautious, to set a lock code or something to prevent another close call like that. The thought of Ella discovering what was really going on in my mind terrified me.
• The guilt gnawed at me, my chest tightening as I replayed the scene in my head. Had she caught on? Did she know I was reading about seduction? My heart raced, but after thinking it through, I realized she hadn’t shown any signs of suspicion. For now, I was safe. Or so I hoped.
