• I was watching Netflix in the living room, and it was noon. Even though I could have watched it on the TV in my room, I had developed a habit of coming to the living room to watch. It wasn't just because the TV was bigger; it also gave me the chance to steal glances at Derek whenever I wanted. But Derek received an important call from his office and had to leave the house. Ella was in her room planning the upcoming party and asked me to give her some space. She wanted it to be a surprise for me.
• After breakfast, Ella had asked if I wanted to go out, but I declined. She couldn't understand why I enjoyed staying at home, especially when Derek was around. But I couldn't tell her the real reason.
