When I heard those words, "words to my ex-boyfriend," it felt like my heart was torn in two. I thought I had escaped the emotional grip of someone I once loved deeply, but this reminder made me realize my weaknesses. I had made a promise to myself never to go back to Tony. I didn't even entertain the thought. Not only had my heart built a strong wall against Tony's affection, but my dad also despised him for his unforgiving attitude.
What should I say? The crowd eagerly awaited my words as I stood up and took the microphone. I mustered up courage and placed my right hand on my waist. It was a challenging situation, and if Ella had informed me earlier, I could have prepared what to say.
