Chapter 6 My Friend Is Having Some Marital Issue

  • Author POV
  • Nelly arrived home late after visiting Chloe's house. It took her about thirty-five minutes to get from Chloe's place to her own house, and she hadn't informed her husband about coming home late.
  • "Where have you been?" That was the first question her husband, Gary, asked her when she entered the living room. There was a hint of anger on his face.
  • "Is that how you welcome me now?" She stood still and looked unhappy.
  • "Why didn't you answer my calls? I've been calling you."
  • "Me?" She opened her bag to retrieve her phone and show her husband, trying to prove that she didn't see his calls.
  • "Look at..." she paused. There were twelve missed calls. "When did you call me that I didn't notice?" She exclaimed.
  • "I'm sorry," she said apologetically, waiting for her husband's response.
  • "It's not just about saying sorry. You made me worried. What if something bad had happened to you?"
  • "I didn't realize I had put my phone on silent. I was when we had a meeting before closing at my workplace." Nelly moved closer to him, and they embraced, while she briefly kissed her husband.
  • "How was your day?" Gary asked. "You look very stressed out," he added.
  • "It's fine. But we need to have a very important discussion. Let me quickly go inside, prepare dinner, and then we can talk about it."
  • "Is that why you came home late?" he asked.
  • "Relax, I'm coming." Nelly hurried into her room first to drop her bag, then went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. An hour later, both of them were at the dining table. Nelly waited for them to finish eating, and as she placed her spoon on her plate, she asked,
  • "What's the longest period of time you can go without having sex?"
  • Gary didn't immediately answer his wife. He raised his face and stared at her for a while.
  • "Why did you ask?"
  • "I'm just curious. I want to know. For example, if I decide to travel and don't come back on time."
  • "You know I enjoy it like my daily meal. If you decide to give it to me every day, I'll gladly accept it."
  • "Hmm..." she hummed with a smile.
  • "Although, if you travel and don't come back on time, we'll probably have a marathon session when you return," he chuckled.
  • "I'm not talking about weeks. I mean months. Let's say three to four months…"
  • "I can't do that." He said before his wife finished her sentence.
  • "Are you serious?"
  • "Yes. Let me explain why. Did you know that men produce millions of sperm every day? So, where do you expect the old sperm to go? They need to be released," he smirked and continued, "Women, on the other hand, release one or two eggs a month, which is probably why they don't have the same level of need as men."
  • "We need it too, just not as men. But why do some men not like doing it?"
  • "Which men? All men love it."
  • "Wait, wait, I forgot to ask a question. At what age do men start to feel less interested in having sex?" she asked.
  • "As long as sperm production continues, we're always ready. Why all these questions?" He asked.
  • Nelly didn't respond at first.
  • "Am I not satisfying you enough?" He asked.
  • "It's not about me." She put her hands on her forehead and looked down at the table.
  • "It's about my friend. Her husband stopped being intimate with her, and it's hurting her."
  • "For how many weeks?" He asked.
  • "Months."
  • "Months? That man must be sick."
  • "I thought so too," she replied, and there was silence as they both looked at each other.
  • "My friend's husband is depriving her of sex. Can you believe it? She hasn't had sex for over four months!" She tapped her fingertips on the table.
  • "Four months? That's unacceptable. How is your friend coping? Which friend are we talking about?"
  • "Chloe!"
  • "That beautiful curvaceous lady?" He exclaimed.
  • "Yes. She's becoming depressed. But if it were me, I wouldn't have been that affected."
  • "How I wish my wife had that kind of sex drive like her friend. She would be the one initiating it with me." He thought.
  • "Chloe and I are planning to find out what's wrong with her husband. Chloe will be visiting her husband's doctor soon. It's such a pity for my friend." She stood up, took the dishes, and left the dining table.
  • As she left, Gary couldn't help but imagine, watching his wife walk towards the kitchen.
  • "Imagine asking my wife to personally invite her friend to spend a night with me. I would fill those empty days of hers," he chuckled to himself, not realizing his wife was looking back at him.
  • "What's so amusing?" Nelly asked.
  • "Oh, nothing. I was just lost in thought."
  • Once Nelly had entered the kitchen, Gary continued to think.
  • "Chloe must be very sensitive now. A simple touch, and she would moan with pleasure." He smiled as his mind wandered into more explicit thoughts about Chloe's situation. Initially, he had no intention of thinking that way about Chloe, but after two days of passively pondering his wife's friend's predicament, he found himself entertaining the idea of a passionate night with her.
  • It was during dinner when he finally asked his wife.
  • "How is Chloe doing now?"
  • "She's alright. We only spoke on the phone briefly, so I didn't talk much. I'm planning to see her this weekend."
  • "Why don't you invite Chloe to stay with us for a few weeks? She really needs your support at this time. What do you think?"
  • "This is unlike you. When did you start showing empathy towards other people's situations?"
  • "I feel sorry for her. You should be there for her right now..."
  • "But I'm already going to her place this weekend," she interrupted.
  • "No problem with that! But I suggest you take her away from her familiar surroundings. It might help her relax. If it's possible, I can accompany you to her place," he suggested innocently.
  • "No need for that. After I visit her, I'll suggest that she comes here and stays for a few days or weeks if she agrees. It would really benefit her. That's another great idea," she replied.
  • ****************
  • It was the weekend, and Nelly was at Chloe's place as promised. They were in the kitchen, with Nelly preparing Chloe's favorite lunch. Chloe sat on a stool near the door, while Nelly faced the boiling pot, finishing up the cooking.
  • "Thank you so much, Nelly. You've made my day so much easier. I didn't expect you to help with my lunch," Chloe expressed her gratitude, and they both smiled.
  • Nelly carried the meal to the dining room, and they began eating. Halfway through their meal, Nelly asked,
  • "How did it go with your husband's doctor?"
  • "He said there's nothing wrong with my husband. I told him everything, but he said that based on my husband's recent medical checkup, there were no issues. He advised me to give him more time. He mentioned that it could be stress or one of the signs of men and women in their forties."
  • "Guess what! I thought my husband would be helpful. I asked him about his sexual desires and if age affects men. You know what he said?"
  • "No," Chloe replied.
  • "He said as long as a man produces sperm, he'll remain sexually active. He even said that if I allowed him to have sex every day, he would be the happiest man on earth."
  • "Lucky you," Chloe snapped.
  • "Lucky me? Is that satisfying?" Nelly questioned.
  • "Well, at least he gives you what you need when it's due," Chloe replied.
  • "That's true."
  • "But I'm thinking about something else," Chloe continued.
  • "What's that?" Nelly asked.
  • "I'm thinking that if I tell my husband that I want a divorce, he might realize the seriousness of the situation and fulfill my needs if he truly loves me."
  • "That's too early, Chloe. It makes me think that maybe staying alone in this house is contributing to this. You've stopped going to work, and it's allowing negative emotions to fill your mind. How about spending some quality time at my place?"
  • "Will your husband allow that? I didn't really like the way he looked at me when I visited you before."
  • "Do you know what? He was the one who suggested it. I was surprised. He empathizes with your situation, especially because you decided not to cheat on your husband. He was really impressed, that's what I thought. He didn't explicitly say it, but I could tell. Most women would have taken this opportunity to seek other men to fulfill their sexual desires, but you never did that. Your attitude has earned my respect. It takes a virtuous woman to do what you did."
  • "Thank you for your kind words. They bring comfort to my heart," Chloe smiled and blinked her eyes to hold back tears.
  • "You're welcome, Chloe. So, when will you come over to my place? Gary and I would be happy to help you through this difficult time."
  • "Let's say sometime next week. Ella is organizing a party and she wants me to attend. I wanted Derek to be the one persuading me to go. I want his call because it would show that he values me. I don't want to go there and have things be the same as usual. But don't worry, after this Saturday, I'll spend two weeks at your house, as promised," Chloe said.
