• Ava’s POV
• Fabio’s words, a brutal promise of eventual release, had been on a continuous loop in my head since that day in the car. “You deserve a normal life, Ava… Being with me, it will only make it worse… will not bring you peace.” And his cutting reply when I swore I’d never leave him: “You will change your mind, Ava.”
