Chapter 49
- Ava’s POV
- I stared into his eyes for a long time, my heart doing a weird flutter-kick thing. It was like I forgot how to look away. This tension between us was making me feel all tingly. His hands on my face, then sliding down my neck? Seriously making me gulp. "Listen," I finally said, my voice a little shaky. "I'm not safe here anymore, okay? I know who the bad guy is. But if I just point fingers without proof? Everyone's gonna think I've officially lost it." I gave a nervous laugh, but it wasn't funny at all.
- I expected Fabio to maybe chuckle or tell me I was being silly. But his face was dead serious. "I believe you, Ava."
