Chapter 57 Joanna Confesses Her Feelings

• My concentration was torn in between Joanna and Laura, mostly on Laura but I couldn't take my mind or eyes off either of them. I didn't want to upset Joanna, it would be rude to ignore her while on a date with her but I was also worried about Laura and I had to stare towards her at the dance floor every few seconds.
• “Noah, your step sister isn't a baby and she is going to be fine, why are you behaving this way?” Joanna finally complained. I could feel the pain and sadness in her voice as she said those words; she was hurting .
• I turned my attention back to her with an apologetic face, “I am sorry, it is just that I am worried about her, our parents will totally roast me if anything happens to her,” I replied. Of course that was a lie; I mean, yeah Dad will be pretty mad at me and Cecile will be disappointed but that wasn't the reason why I was so nervous and insecure.
