Chapter 24 Getting To Know Each Other Better

• We sat on Laura's bed discussing and laughing over pretty nothing much. We were already through with the case of the handyman's ugly cap and had moved over to more serious things. I could see the conversation was coming to an end and I didn't want it to end just yet, so I came up with an idea to keep it going.
• A part of me was doing this because I really wanted to hang out with her, but another part was doing it mainly to keep her occupied, so she didn't change her mind and decided to go to her mom's room. I was so scared back there in the hallway and thought I had been caught already, it seemed like the universe was on my side; at least for the meantime.
