• As I drove into the compound, I noticed Laura standing on the balcony and my heart skipped. She didn’t look happy to see me driving in with Joanna, and I know this doesn’t look good at all. Good lord, I hope we don’t have to fight over this.
• I quickly had the car parked outside the garage and then I excused myself, saying I had to use the toilet; that was to avoid making Joanna feel bad for abandoning her in the car immediately we got it. • I quickly rushed into the house and climbed the stairs. I am sure I made it to my bedroom even before Joanna would get out of the car. Yes, I went straight to my bedroom because I knew Laura had headed back inside to wait for me after she saw me drive in.
