Chapter 2 Black Leather Jacket

  • I D R I S
  • As my tears streamed down my face copiously, my heart was still bleeding and throbbing. People were certainly staring at me and commenting on how ashamed and stupid I looked, but how could I care what they thought of me when I was truly hurting a lot on the inside and having so many unanswered questions running through my mind? All of a sudden my feet began to lead me to the front door and stupidly, my feet started sprinting on its own. As I began to chase their car under the strong rain while my heart was pounding heavier and heavier with each second.
  • “Why?!” I screamed as I kept chasing their car while I am starting to feel out of breath. I am not much of a runner and I could already feel my knees weaken. But I want to ask them why. Why did they do it? Why did they betray me? Why did they lie to me? Why did they have to do it behind my back when I trusted both of them the most.
  • I tripped as my knees weakened and eventually I fell to the road while there was a car beeping loudly from behind me. Right here, for a split second, I wanted it to run me over so I can end my pitiful life while my heart is tremendously aching as the man that I love had left with the woman I thought I could trust. My heart was breaking in front of me as the loud sound of the rain filled my ears while the echoing sound of the horn kept beeping from behind me.
  • “Why…” I muttered to myself as I clawed my fingers on my clothes over my left chest. “Why…” I cried and cried as my tears were swept away by the heavy rain.
  • Ah, it is always me over something or someone else. And they always choose the latter, never me.
  • A distinctive loud vrooming sound came from behind me which was getting nearer and nearer with a loud beeping sound that echoed the entire street as it stood out from the loud sound of the pouring heavy rain and the cracking sounds of thunder and lighting that filled the entire dark sky. My vision was blurry but I know for a fact that the vrooming sound of a big motorcycle was next to me but my entire body was too weak to even move so I am just staring at the ground filled with water from the rain.
  • “Hey!! Get out of the road you dumbass!” I could hear someone screaming from behind me while they were prolonging the sound of their horn at me.
  • A car from behind swerves to the opposite street and drives away far ahead of me while other cars begin to follow. I know I should stand from where I was sitting down because I am causing traffic but my body is too weak to even move.
  • “Get up!” A man’s voice screams at me while the sound of a motorcycle revs up from behind me. “Get up because no one will help you but yourself!” I wondered how I could hear what he was saying so I figured that maybe he was near me. Slowly I pulled my head up and found a man’s motorcycle covering me with his big motorcycle as it was parked horizontally. “Get up! God damn it!” My eyes travelled to his head while he opened his helmet at me but his face was blurry from the heavy rain.
  • As soon as he got off his motorcycle, his towering stature immediately loomed over me. He then firmly lifted me up off the ground like I was a piece of paper. He removed his helmet and put it on my head right away. He helped me pull the sleeves of his black leather jacket through my arms as he took it off and placed it on. “You stand up by yourself and you always have to because it is always like that, do you hear me?” He says loudly through the sound of the heavy rain.
  • I nodded at him even though I know for sure that I do not know this man but his words were making sense to me. He closed the helmet and zipped up the black leather jacket while I saw a line of cars which were stuck in traffic because of what I had done. I wanted to say something but my mind was all foggy for words to speak to him and my body was too tired to even understand what was going on. He dragged me towards his big motorcycle and ordered me to get on and I obeyed like a dog–
  • “You are like a lost puppy under the rain that I needed to take care of because I felt pity.” Troy’s words filled my head and his voice made me cry even more inside this helmet because Troy was right.
  • “Hold on!” The tall man told me as soon as he got on the motorcycle and started driving away from the traffic that I had caused.
  • The second I opened my eyes, I saw a chandelier over me and the scent of roses and strawberry filled my nostrils the moment I inhaled. “Where am I?” I asked while mumbling as I am slowly pulling myself up to a sitting position. The blanket dropped to my thigh as soon as I sat and I saw myself wearing a bathrobe which makes me more confused since I am sure that I do not own this fancy robe, nor I do not own a robe back in my own apartment.
  • “So you decided to finally wake up, Cinderella.”
  • I craned my neck to look in the direction of a man across from me who was rubbing his wet hair with another towel while wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. I was immediately frightened because I had no prior knowledge of the man and noticed that his right arm was covered in a sleeve tattoo that ran from his shoulder to his wrist.
  • “Who are you?!” I screamed in fright.
