Chapter 46

• I stare at the text I sent Jake for the millionth time and sigh. It's been over an hour now since I texted him my whereabouts. I keep my phone next to me as I stare at the lake. I always loved coming here with Jake. The peacefulness and quietness. It was bliss.
• I stand up, get undressed and I dive inside the lake. The water is cold, including the weather since it rained last night. Goosebumps fill my skin. This is my fourth time swimming since I got here.
• I still can't get over the fact that I've been rejected and disowned by my own parents. It hurts so much. The cold water helps me forget and sometimes I think maybe when I get out everything will be back to normal. It's never different. The reality of being disowned still sinked into my soul.
