Chapter 69 ARE YOU MARRIED OR NOT

  • Time had stopped at this moment.
  • I stared at the facade smile displayed on her lips. Without discarding my gaze from her face, that face that I've been longing to meet once again, that face that has a replica in my household but hers is incomparable. She has a particular vacuum inside my heart. I couldn't help but tremble at every step I took towards her, however, the fire of desire in my heart wasn't fading but growing instead. Standing before her glorious self now, I attempted to hold her hand, but her next action left astounded. She had stepped back, leaving a considerable distance between us. “What's it, Kiara? Are you trying to avoid me?” My words were stuck in my throat, but I let them out nonetheless. “What do you mean avoiding you when I haven't even met you before, Mr.?” My heart trembling at what she had just said, I stared at her face without a blink. “If there's anything you want to say to me, I'm all ears. You don't have to touch me” Her words were so sharp and blunt and her face expressionless. The initial smile that was embedded on the corner of her lips was now long gone. All the muscled on my body were tightened as I looked at her expressionless face which was very hard to read. “Kiara, what happened? Why are you doing this to me? You have no idea how much I missed you. You don't know…” Glaring up at me, “What exactly do you want to talk about, sir?” She interrupted my unfinished words, firmly. At this time, I was thrown into confusion as if I had gotten struck by lightning. Suddenly, I grasped her both hands, staring into her eyes intently to glean an idea of what was running through her head. She wriggled in my clasp, squeezing her face in disgust. “Who are you, and what are you trying to do?” She roared in a low, menacing voice. By now, my emotions were indescribable, the more I stared at her red lips that kept parting and closing. I bent over and clung my own on them tightly. I pressed the back of her head in a domineering manner. She wanted to push me away, but I held her still, exploring the inside of her mouth. Shortly, she bit my bottom lip. I felt the sharp pain and let go of her for the time being. But shortly after, I dip my head forward, ignoring her cold look. *Smack* Stunned, I subconsciously touched my face, the area where slapped was stinging and there was a buzzing in my ears. “You animal. How dare you do that? Huh!” She yelled out, wearing an annoyed expression. “Tell me, why are you here in the first place? Who invited you here?” Her expression was tense, and she had lost her temper, it was like a hurricane was forming in her eyes. All I could do was stare at her, wordlessly. I had thought she was probably playing a prank on me, it never occurred to me that she was being momentous. 'But what have I done to deserve this treatment from her?' Discarding my hand that was pressed to my cheek, “What's going on, Kiara? Have I done something wrong?” My voice inevitably trembled as I struggle to keep my tears from falling, but failed woefully.
  • “Why don't you ask yourself that question? You bastard! I thought you loved me, I thought I was the only woman of your dreams, but I was utterly wrong. Just a few months after my disappearance, you were already seeing another woman and even got married to her” Her thick curly eyelashes trembled as her eyes became red with tears. “No, Kiara, that's not true. Believe me, all that you just said are utterly wrong” I said cogently, wondering in my mind what she had seen or heard for her to think of me like that. Laughing like crazy for a moment, she stopped and asked strongly, “Then what's true, Alexander? Are you married or not?” Shaking my head vigorously, “No, Kiara, I mean yes, but you've got to listen to me first” I coaxed, tears dripping from my eyes hysterically. She curled her lips to a suitable arc, looking graceful and self-confident, an endless abyss along with it. “Mr. Andrew Alexander” She seldomly called my name. I watched her face that was swept by the light and the shadow, waiting for her to continue. “It's over between us. So, I would like you to stay away from me, as far away as possible” Her face didn't give away any emotions as she pronounced these words. Right after she completed her frigid words, she turned around and stride away fast. I only stood there motionlessly, I couldn't utter any sound when parting my lips.
