Chapter 29 An Awful News

  • Alexander POV
  • I tramped into the living room, supposing I would meet her on her favorite seat in the living room, but surprisingly, she wasn't here. My face crumpled, isn't she awaiting my arrival? “You are welcome sir, granny is waiting for you in the dining room” A maid approached and welcomed me. I nodded curtly and followed her. As soon as I entered, her face lightened up, she retired from her seat and came to embrace me, tightly. “Oh dear, I missed you so much, Alexander” She cooed while kissing my cheeks. I giggled, “I was away for only two nights granny” I reminded her, she pulled away and poked my chest. “You literally don't want me to start giving an account of how bad I felt your absence” She sulked, my heart flustered while the smile on my face radiated. I dipped my head and pressed my lips to her forehead. “I missed you too, mom” She flushed in red but quickly turned away from me and went back to sit down. I took a few steps, “Why do you tend to blush each time I refer you as mom?” I asked carefully, while sitting next to her. She uncovered the sumptuous and savory meal on the table and says, “I don't know, perhaps it's because I'm not used to it” She admitted, “Tell me, how was the trip? I want to believe your Personal Assistant did well at the banquet” She purposely switched the subject. I moved myself closer to the table. 'Of course she did great, she dumbfounded me with how she spoke the dialect eloquently, except for the fact that she stole all the present men attention, and even the chairman himself wanted to flirt with her'
  • My fist absentmindedly curled to a lump, recalling the pure lust bandaged on the chairman's face. I suddenly felt her warm palm on my cheek, “Alexander?” It was then I regained the sense of mind, I released a deep breath I didn't realize I was holding, “Did she mess things up? Didn't you say she could speak the French language?” Granny said with a long face, I held her hand and smiled. “She did superb” She stared at my face for two seconds then asked, “Then why did you zone out? Was the chairman icy?” I cackled, “Come on granny, it will be fine, I promise” Then she held my both hands, “Do not hesitate to tell me how things go at the companies, we are both in this together,” She said attentively, “Of course mom, don't worry” She blushed In red again, “Will you stop that?” She cautioned playfully, so amusing.
