Chapter 7 The Approach

• Maya held her breath when she realized what she had just done. She watched Joseph step out of the vehicle and make room for her to get in. Too late to back out now and refuse the offer.
• She felt like she was hallucinating. Her hands tingled, and her vision blurred as she looked inside the car. Her neck twisted to the other side, as if Maya had just remembered something important. If Simon saw her in Joseph’s company, things could get complicated for both of them.
• Without thinking much, she got into the vehicle. Joseph smiled, pleased to have ensnared his prey.
