• Thomas couldn't wait to tell Ken everything he had discovered. He hadn't gone home that night—he simply couldn't. He had gathered enough information and proof to show that Cynthia wasn't guilty of any of the accusations.
• Earlier that day, he had already done some background research on the hotel where she once worked. He went there in person to make further inquiries, and that was when he got wind of Dan. One of the chefs shared everything he knew about Cynthia and Dan. Through that, Thomas was able to get Dan's room number. He managed to gain access to the room—he intended to spend the night there.
• With his phone in hand, Thomas scanned the room carefully. Something had changed. The clock wasn't in the same place as it had been in the original picture. That subtle difference confirmed his suspicion. He needed solid proof, and from what he observed, it was enough to raise alarms.
