• Ken sat in the garden, the evening breeze brushing past him—calm and deceptive. The garden lights cast a soft glow on the stone paths, and birds chirped their final tunes of the day. Yet, all of it went dead silent in his mind.
• Jack leaned casually on the opposite side of the table, watching him. A smug grin played at the corner of his lips.
