- Moments later, Lincoln opened the door, and Michael immediately noticed the man's disheveled appearance. His hair was mussed, his shirt wrinkled and partially untucked, and there was something in his expression that spoke of recent intimate activity. His lips were also a little bit swollen and his neck bore signs of hickeys, both new and already fading ones.
- The sight made Michael simultaneously annoyed and relieved; annoyed at the obvious interruption he was causing, but relieved that his sister seemed to be finding happiness in her marriage despite the circumstances that had brought it about.
