• When we finally emerged from the forest the next day, hand in hand, the pack was stunned. I could feel their eyes on us, but I didn’t care. All I could think about was Rhys and the way he’d confessed his love to me. The words had come so easily to him, yet they meant the world to me.
• Rhys was being extra possessive, more so than usual. Every few steps, he would pull me closer, his fingers tightening around mine as if afraid I might slip away. I loved every second of it. The way his hand felt in mine, the way he couldn’t keep his eyes off me, the way he would steal kisses whenever he thought no one was looking.
