Chapter 65
- Dawn
- The next few days were a whirlwind of activity. My life had shifted so suddenly, from being just an outcast of the pack to preparing to become its Luna. I could hardly keep up with everything I had to learn. This was more severe than the last time. Before, I was doing it just to survive but now, I had to become one. Traditions, duties, and responsibilities. It felt like every waking moment was filled with lessons and preparations. Nadia was assigned as my guide, walking me through the countless rituals and protocols. She was patient, which was a good thing, considering how distracted I was most of the time.
- The Nobles, predictably, were not happy. Some of them refused to believe that I was truly Rhys’s mate. There were whispers that I had somehow bewitched him, made him believe I was someone worthy of his bond. I could feel their eyes on me during our walks around the pack, their skepticism hanging in the air like a dark cloud. The others were a mix of genuinely happy and indifferent. It didn’t help that every time I tried to focus on what Nadia was saying, Rhys would appear out of nowhere, pulling me out of my thoughts and into his arms.
