• I had been on this journey for what felt like ages, visiting pack after pack, forging alliances, and strengthening bonds. I’d visited more packs than I cared to count, but no matter where I was, my thoughts always drifted back to Dawn. I missed her more than I’d ever missed anyone before, more than I thought was even possible. But I wasn’t worried. I had confidence in her. I knew she was safe and that she would handle everything just fine in my absence. Still, I was eager to finish up and return to her.
