Chapter 20
- I barred my bloody teeth in hopes that I would strike fear in their hearts, but their eyes only flared in anger, and they planted their feet firmly on the ground.
- I let my eyes sweep around them, noting their spotless shirt and their still-put-together clothes. Not a single hair was out of place, and they were in a better shape than I am. They had their strength while I was still reeling from the punches I had received.
- I could tell in those squinted eyes that they planned to attack as one, which was not going to be favorable to me, but I was going to try my best to win because I was not a quitter.
