Chapter 31

• Mrs Maikoh was one of our oldest midwife and I figured if I wanted answers she was the werewolf to find. Her house took me some time to find since she lived more in the woods than closer to the packs residential place where most of the werewolves lived. The thing about our midwives is that their knowledge is passed on from mother to daughter to preserve knowledge about bringing werewolf pups into the world. We werewolves didn't have any choice to give birth among the humans, we wouldn't risk our exposure plus we and them were completely different.
• Upon reaching the house I was given warm welcomes from a lady with wrinkles on her face but she seemed nice enough. It had taken me guts to come here and talk about my problem but I had to know what was going on with me incase it would put my pup in danger. "My if it isn't our very own Luna" said Mrs Maikoh, her eyes glistening with wisdom as she greeted me. "tell me, how is that pup of yours doing?" "Mrs Maikoh.." "please call me Francis" she says and continues to add "it continues Francisca" after seeing my confusion on the obvious make name she just handed me to call her by but it seemed to be normal to her so I was ok with that. "Uh.. Mrs.. Sorry Francis, I am actually here concerning about my little pup in my tummy, I've been out of it lately" Francis looked at me with those wise eyes and simply asked "is it morning sickness then? It's quite normal for werewolves to have morning sickness." I told her I was fine and that my morning sickness wasn't as bad as it was at first. She then asked me what the problem was because she herself wouldn't think anything because most werewolves didn't have trouble during their pregnancy.
• And then I had told her about my symptoms and that I was having really strange dreams. She then told me to lay down on cushioned mat on the floor. I did as I was told and lay down. She then started to press me with tender hand and she was very gentle. After she was done checking me she looked at me with a glint in her eyes, then she smiled wide and told me that was simply in heat. She said that it was normal for a female werewolf to be in heat when she was pregnant and that some desired to be mated as much as possible. My whole face burned when I heard this from her. But I asked if it was safe at all for the baby to mate. She simply replied with a smile and nodded her head. I was greatful that nothing was wrong with me and that my baby was fine.
