• Max had always known that being the Sprit Walker Pack's beta meant taking on a lot of responsibilities. He was to ensure that the pack ran smoothly and that all of its members were safe and well fed. But he never imagined he'd have to deal with the situation he's in now. Cayden had been seriously injured, and war was on the horizon. Max arrived at the infirmary to find it in disarray. The pack members were all talking at the same time, trying to figure out what had happened and what they were going to do now that their leader was gone. Max took command of the situation, delegating tasks to others and ensuring that everyone remained calm and focused.
