Chapter 151 Facing The Foe

• Jennifer woke up in a haze. Whatever evil drink they were made to drink had dulled her senses. Hawk's nasty smile was the last thing she could recall. And then there was nothing but darkness. As her mind slowly came back to her. The dimly lit cave smelled of dampness and dread. As soon as she saw how bad things were, she felt a rush of fear. Dr. Colin was sleeping next to her. There were marks on his face where he had been hit. Jennifer gave him a gentle tap on the shoulder and said, "Dr. Colin, wake up!" The fog of confusion cleared as soon as he opened his eyes, and he saw how bad things were.
• "What's going on?" He asked groggily.
• "Shh," Jennifer warned him. "Let's continue what we were doing. The guards seemed distracted." Dr. Colin nodded, understanding the urgency in Jennifer's voice. They both knew that they needed to seize this opportunity and escape while the guards were preoccupied. They cautiously resumed untangling the knots.
