Chapter 63 The run

• "This evening, Brothers and Sisters, we are going to celebrate our good fortune." Cayden's voice could be heard all the way across the field. Selena made an effort to avoid becoming captivated by his oratory, but it was hard for her to maintain her composure.

• The crowd erupted in applause. Cayden went into detail about some of the other achievements this week. Selena felt eyes on her. She tore her gaze away from the Alpha and swept it around the assembled people. Bart was almost fifty feet behind her and there were at least ten people standing between the two of them. His attention was completely fixated on her. She thought him to be really creepy. She began making her way through the throng as they gave out another round of shouts, with the intention of increasing the space that separated her from him. Next came Natasha into the picture. She had been making an effort to be more friendly, which was a red flag.
