Chapter 8 Pounce on Anyone as Long as They're a Man

  • Didn't he leave me to that creepy guy? Why did he show up? To make a joke of me? Ha!
  • "Henry?" She pointed at the man who carried a murderous aura. Perhaps it was because of the wine she had drunk that she had grown bold, and she roared as if she had no fear, "You're just… a b*stard!"
  • Henry's face turned as black as thunder in an instant.
  • Xavier and Wilma both lowered their heads, not daring to even breathe.
  • She stumbled in and grabbed Henry's tie, pulling him toward herself. "You think I wanted to marry you so badly? What do you take yourself for? A god?"
  • The smell of alcohol that washed over his face caused Henry to frown, and there was a trace of anger in his eyes. He nimbly grabbed her wrist and said, "I think you're crazy."
  • Would she leave with any man she saw? He wanted this woman to retreat, but she was as stubborn as a donkey and refused to let go. When Samantha left with Chester, he immediately regretted it. After all, this woman was his wife, even if only in name, and he felt disgusted now that she was contaminated.
  • "You're the one who's crazy," Samantha retorted, her restless hands tearing at him haphazardly with the added strength of alcohol.
  • I'm going to take revenge on him for letting that man take advantage of me!
  • Henry's face turned completely cold, and he dragged her upstairs by her wrist.
  • She tried to break free, yelling, "Let go of me! Let go…"
  • Bang!
  • The door of the bedroom was kicked open, and he tossed her inside.
  • Unable to maintain her footing, Samantha fell to the floor and bumped her knee, letting out a groan as she held her hands over her leg.
  • At the sound of her moan of pain, Henry was taken aback.
  • This voice…
  • Suddenly, his thoughts returned to that night. This was how that woman had gasped in pain underneath him. Why did her voice sound like Wisteria's?
  • "Henry Baker!" Samantha raised her head and looked at him, her eyes full of hatred.
  • This man is not only vicious, but he's also violent. Her knee was bleeding from the hit.
  • Henry met her eyes before he came back to his senses. He walked in with long strides and narrowed his eyes at her, asking, "You aren't drunk?"
  • She was drunk, but her thoughts were still clear.
  • She braced her hands on the ground and tried to stand up, but her ankles went weak and she fell again. Instinctively, she grabbed onto whatever was beside her to save herself, and was able to brace herself. However, though it was not cold, she felt a chill sweep over her.
  • Slowly, she looked up, only to see that Henry's eyes were dark, not a single trace of warmth in them. It was only then that she realized her hands were latched onto his pants. Fortunately, it was held in place by a belt. If his pants were loose, they would have been yanked down by her long ago. Even so, Henry, who was dressed in a neat suit, was still very much in a mess. Seeing that, Samantha let go of her grip hurriedly, but the fabric of his trousers was creased and puffed.
  • She hastily averted her gaze elsewhere. "I-I didn't do it on purpose."
  • A cold scoff escaped Henry's lips as he asked, "Is that so?"
  • "Of course."
  • Hold on…
  • She glared at him and demanded, "What do you mean by that?"
  • "Aren't you aware what kind of person you are?"
  • The question and sarcasm in his voice clearly provoked Samantha. He saw the medicine and knows that I…
  • Upon recalling what happened that night, she trembled slightly, but her face was full of a forced calmness. She wanted to hide away, afraid that someone would spy on her and use it to humiliate her.
  • "Speechless now? Will you pounce on anyone as long as they're a man?" Henry grabbed her neck, his eyes stormy. "Tell me, how did you manage to cheat on me while refusing to divorce me?"
  • As he spoke, his tone was vicious. Him, Henry Baker, having a used shoe as a wife was probably the most humiliating thing in his life!
  • She was having a hard time breathing from his hold. Her cheeks, which were originally red, became even more flushed, and her chest heaved dramatically as she desperately tried to catch her breath.
  • She writhed against him, squeezing the words from her throat. "Let… go…"
  • As she wrestled to break free too drastically, the top two buttons on her clothes fell apart, snapping off the ground.
  • Henry lowered his eyes, his eyes skimming over her dainty collarbone, and he saw the black lace lingerie on her exposed chest, her cleavage vaguely visible from his point of view.
  • She struggled to breathe, groaning, "Mm…"
  • A strand of hair cascaded messily down her ear, and the sight of her panting along with her breaths made her indescribably seductive. Realizing that he had seen too much, he immediately withdrew his eyes, his throat unconsciously tightening as he frowned intensely, desperately restraining himself.
  • How could I have any form of desire for such a promiscuous woman? It's making me sick! He threw her onto the bed in anger, and his fury at that moment was directed to himself. I had such thoughts toward an indecent woman like this? Have I gone insane?
  • Immediately, he turned and headed downstairs. When Xavier saw him, he immediately came over and greeted, "Mr. Baker."
  • Henry didn't say a word and continued striding outside instead, while Xavier jogged along to catch up to him. After getting into the car, Xavier started the car and drove away, during which he cautiously looked back.
  • What's with him? Why is he so angry?
  • In the villa, after she could breathe again, Samantha lay on the bed and panted heavily. She clutched her chest. Earlier, she genuinely thought that Henry was going to strangle her to death.
  • "Ugh…"
  • The alcohol that was churning in her stomach rebounded after she was restrained from breathing, giving her the strong urge to hurl. Immediately after, she rushed to the bathroom and retched violently. After she was done, she felt much better and rinsed her mouth with the water from the tap, then lay down on the bed without taking a shower. I'm so tired, so sleepy… Slowly, she closed her eyes and fell asleep without realizing it.
  • The next day, in Dragondale Group, as soon as Henry entered the building, his secretary came over. "Mr. Baker, Mr. Green is looking for you."
