Chapter 7 Not a Pure Woman

  • "Miss Yeager? I'm Mr. Baker's assistant. Mr. Baker would like to see you, so please come with me."
  • Samantha was startled for a moment when she saw Xavier. The next instant, she quickly lowered her eyes to conceal her expression as she recognized him. It's this guy who opened the door when I treated a patient's wounds in Aaron's place. He's Henry's assistant? Is Henry the one who got wounded, then?
  • Seeing that she wasn't moving at all, Xavier repeated with emphasis, "Miss Yeager, please come with me."
  • Samantha concealed her emotions, saying, "I have to go to work." She refused him outright as she didn't want to see Henry.
  • However, Xavier said, "Miss Yeager, please think carefully about your present status. If you make Mr. Baker unhappy, not only will you lose your job, but I'm afraid you'll also lose your professional career as a doctor."
  • This was an obvious threat.
  • Samantha clenched her fists. Her father would only pay for her mother's surgery, so she'd have to pay for her mother's medical care and treatment with her own paycheck. She couldn't lose her job, nor could she give up her profession as a doctor. She had no choice but to agree to go with Xavier! "Please wait a moment while I call the hospital to take the day off." After ending the phone call upstairs, she took a scalpel out of her drawer and put it in her handbag for self-defense. Then, she primped herself up and came downstairs.
  • Soon, she was brought to a nightclub.
  • Samantha had never been in such a place before. Men and women could be seen cuddling each other everywhere, and there were also women who stood in a corner while whispering among themselves.
  • "The man who is talking business with Henry in the VIP room on the top floor, I hear that he's not only a lecher but also a perverted one."
  • "Is he the one who nearly killed one of the ladies in bed last time?"
  • "Yes, that's him."
  • "Tsk, tsk, I wonder who's gonna be the unlucky one this time. Anyway, it's fine as long as we're not chosen. I hear that the lady survived the ordeal, but she could no longer conceive. Who knows what method he used to torture her like that?"
  • Their conversation made Samantha's flesh creep, especially when she heard Henry's name. She panicked somewhat, and her palms broke out in a cold sweat.
  • Soon, the elevator stopped.
  • Seeing how pale she looked, Xavier kindheartedly reminded her, "You know very well how you got married to Mr. Baker. As long as you sign the divorce papers now, you'll no longer have to be here today."
  • Indeed, the Bakers owed the Yeagers a favor, so the former couldn't reject the conditions proposed by the latter. However, if Samantha were willing to get a divorce, this matter would've been over.
  • Samantha looked at Xavier while trembling slightly. If she were able to say no, she wouldn't have married into the Bakers, nor would she have given Henry the opportunity to force her to do anything. After taking a deep breath, she stepped out of the elevator.
  • Xavier frowned. Without saying another word, he led her to a luxurious private room. In the dim light, she saw Henry, who was sitting on the sofa, and the man next to him at a glance.
  • "Wow." As soon as she came in, she drew the attention of the man, who blatantly eyed her up and down without restraint. Then, he commented, "What a pretty lady, with porcelain skin and a tiny waist that'd definitely feel soft in a man's arms…" He waved his hand, saying, "Come over and sit next to me."
  • Samantha turned to look at Henry, who leaned back on the sofa with his legs crossed gracefully and his entire face concealed in darkness. She couldn't catch a glimpse of his expression at all.
  • The man stood up right away before putting his arm frivolously around her shoulders. He asked Henry with a smile, "Where did you find this girl? She looks much more pleasing to the eye than those ladies with heavy makeup. Such a natural beauty is really to my liking."
  • Henry didn't speak, nor did he stop the man. Is he tacitly consenting to this? Samantha's heart grew cold as she curled her fingers and clutched the handbag in her hand.
  • "Can you drink?" the man asked while reaching for her waist.
  • Disgusted by the man, Samantha moved a little. "No, I can't."
  • "It's okay if you can't. I'll teach you how to drink." The man filled a glass with wine and held it to her lips.
  • She tilted her head in an attempt to dodge it, but the man took her into his arms. She struggled, saying, "Let go of me…"
  • "It's part of your duty to accompany me on social occasions." Henry slowly leaned forward, making the clear-cut outline of his face seem all the more prominent under the light. His eyes looked emotionless as he looked up, but his darkened brow made him seem cruel and unforgiving. "If you can't do it, then pack up your stuff and get out of here!"
  • Samantha thought that even if Henry didn't like her, he'd only treat her like a piece of garbage or something that didn't exist. However, little did she think that he'd be so mean to her. "I'll drink it." She pushed the man away and took the glass of wine that he held out to her. After hesitating for a moment, she threw her head back and drained the wine.
  • This was her first time drinking alcohol, and she drank it so fast that the alcohol burned its way down her throat to her stomach.
  • The man could hardly wait any longer when he saw how seductive she was with her fine eyebrows drawn together. "Mr. Baker, may I take her with me?"
  • Samantha was taken aback inwardly. She instinctively tried to escape, but the instant she looked up, she saw a pair of pitch-black and fathomless eyes. She stopped what she was doing. Is this how this guy is trying to humiliate me on purpose?
  • Henry soon looked away. "You… may do as you please."
  • The man grinned from ear to ear before putting his arms around Samantha immediately. This time, she followed him out of the private room without resistance.
  • Xavier came over, saying, "If we let Miss Yeager leave with Chester Green… I'm afraid she'll lose her chastity. She…" Our purpose is for her to back out and willingly agree to the divorce, but do we have to go so far as to make her lose her virginity?
  • Henry poured a glass of wine for himself before finishing it in one gulp with a menacing look in his eyes. "You think she's still a virgin?"
  • Xavier's eyes widened in shock. So, not only are the Yeagers greedy, but they also sent us a woman who's no longer a virgin? He became angry at once. I sympathized with her just now, but now it seems that she isn't worth the sympathy at all. "She knows that we're making things difficult for her on purpose, but she's still not asking for divorce. Seems like she's not gonna relent easily," he said. Is she trying to latch onto the Bakers or something? "Mr. Baker—"
  • "Let's go." Henry cut him short with an imperturbable expression. Obviously, he didn't want to hear anything about Samantha again from Xavier.
  • Xavier cleverly stopped talking and walked to the front before opening the door to the private room.
  • As Henry sat in the car with the lights flashing past him, the scene of Samantha leaving with Chester willingly appeared in his mind. That woman… She knows what's gonna happen, but she still leaves with him willingly, huh? "Turn back."
  • Xavier was startled for a moment. Then, he immediately realized what Henry meant and turned back to the nightclub. However, they didn't find Samantha in the nightclub as she was said to have left.
  • With a sullen expression, Henry ordered Xavier to go back to the villa, but there was no sign of her in the villa either. Obviously, she hadn't returned yet. "Go look for—"
  • Just as he spoke, the door was pushed open, and Samantha's voice rang. "Wilma…" She couldn't hold her liquor, so she was drunk after drinking just a glass of wine. If it weren't for her composure and strong self-restraint—both of which were granted by her profession—she might've been unable to come back.
  • However, Wilma merely stood there, not daring to step forward.
  • "Wil—" Just when she called out to Wilma again, she finally noticed the man standing in the living room.
