Chapter 81 A Disastrous Shopping Experience

  • I looked at Olivia in confusion as the lady came dashing over. Olivia shrugged innocently, but a seed of premonition was already budding in my heart. I swore I saw a flicker of derision in her eyes, and that elicited a shudder down my spine.
  • “I'm so sorry to delay you, Ms. Yarlett,” the woman muttered and panted.
  • “What is it?” A frown settled on Olivia's brows. “Be quick. I'm busy.”
  • “I'm sorry, Ms. Yarlett, but...” the woman said hesitantly as she glanced uneasily at the bags in my hands. “The alarm just rang, so we have to do a check for formality's sake.”
  • Olivia was furious at her accusation. “What do you mean? I'm a VIP at your store. The money I spent at your store is enough to feed your whole family, and now you're saying that I stole something?” She had rage written all over her face, but her lips were curved into a sinister smile as she bellowed.
  • The woman shook her head frantically as she tried to explain herself. “Please don't misunderstand me, Ms. Yarlett...” Finally mustering her courage to point at me, she continued, “We just hope your friend can cooperate with us. We lost a limited edition diamond ring, and that thing cost a fortune. We can't just let it slide.”
