Chapter 7 Nobody Sees That Coming

  • Nobody had expected that I would fight back, especially against a thug like Tiger.
  • Noticing that they were all stunned, I seized that tiny window of opportunity and ran towards the door as quickly as my legs could carry me.
  • “What are you all doing standing around? Get her! I want her chopped up into pieces!” Tiger shouted through clenched teeth from behind me.
  • With his men hot on my heels, the only thing I could think of at the time was to run for my life.
  • As I made my way through the hallway, I grabbed an ashtray and hurled it at those men behind me to stall them as much as possible.
  • Fortunately for me, I knew the place like the back of my hand and made it to the break room fairly quickly. There was a back door which I could escape.
  • Summer was fixing her makeup inside and came to hold me steady when she saw me burst through the door and panting heavily. “What happened?”
  • I grabbed her by the arm and sobbed as I said, “I...I hit Tiger, and his men are coming after me... I can't stay here anymore...”
  • “Hurry up and leave through the back door! Forget about your stuff and your clothes! You might still be able to make it out if you go now!” Summer began shoving me towards the back door. Having offended the worst of all customers, there was no one else who could save me from his wrath.
  • “She's here! Get her!” Tiger's men caught up fairly quickly and were about to kick the door open.
  • With no other choice, I took off my high heels and began running barefoot towards the back door.
  • Bang!
  • The door to the break room was kicked open, and I could hear tons of footsteps chasing after me.
  • After going through the back door, I arrived at a wide and quiet street. There was no one around, save for a black car parked by the side of the road. This is bad... I won't be able to get very far in my current state...
  • With the men closing in from behind, I had no time to hesitate and quickly got into the back seat of the black car. “Please help me, mister! I'm being chased by some really nasty men!”
  • The guy in the driver's seat simply flashed me an awkward look without saying anything.
  • Fearing he would refuse, I handed him all the tips I had received for the night. “Here, you can have it all! I just need you to drive around and drop me off somewhere safe!”
  • “Get out.” A cold voice came from the side all of a sudden, causing me to jump in shock when I realized there was another man in the back seat.
  • I couldn't get a clear look at his face due to how dark it was, but I figured he was a young man based on the look in his eyes and the sound of his voice.
  • “I...I think you should get out of the car, miss...” the driver said with an apologetic look on his face. It became obvious that he was not the one to call the shots.
  • Tiger's men had caught up to me and stood next to the car. As they were unsure of whom it belonged to, they didn't dare to act rashly.
  • There are six of them outside... It looks like Tiger is really pissed about me hitting him with a bottle... Thank goodness I was able to make it into this car... As long as this guy doesn't kick me out, I'll be able to escape safely!
  • I shuddered at the thought of that.
  • “Well, looks like you won't be getting out of this car for a while... So, what did you do to piss them off?” the man asked with a sneer. His tone wasn't as cold as it was before, but it wasn't all that friendly either.
