Two hours later, I sent the completed file to Augustus' email. He opened the file and asked, “What were you thinking about?”
I thought he didn't pay attention to me, but he had noticed how I got lost in my thoughts. After a pause, I replied truthfully, “I had some free time earlier, so I flipped through an Ustranasion dictionary and learned a few words. It brought back some feelings for me.”
“Oh?” Augustus put his pen down and leaned back in his chair. “What feelings?”
When I shifted my gaze to Augustus, I realized he seemed thoroughly interested in what I had to say. I was overwhelmed by how persistent Augustus was. At once, I waved my hand and told him it was nothing.
In response, Augustus gestured for me to come to him.
“Erica, if you don't tell me, how am I supposed to help you?” he drawled out lazily. His voice dripped with a hypnotizing magnetism, which made my heart skip a beat.
