Chapter 5 He Is My Mate

• Danica stood in front of her mansion waiting for Sebastian, it was time to visit Nikitia the skunk she thought to herself.
• Sebastian walked over with good news, “We've destroyed all the evidence at the hospital,” 
• “Was it clean?” Danica asked.
• “Very clean, our inside man made sure to make it look like an accident,”
• “Great, inform Febrian that he will be greatly rewarded. Now it's time to destroy the evidence at the police department, is the car ready?” 
• “Yes my Queen,” Sebastian stated and they started off.
• On the other side, Nolan arrived at the police department fuming, he directly demanded for Nikitia's office but he was informed that she was busy, this further infuriated him. But as he was about to turn he found Nitikia standing behind him. He moved a bit and asked, “Where is my pager?”
• “I thought you came to hand me your line, this is disappointing,” Nikitia replied.
• “Nikitia, I know you took my pager, where is it?” he asked.
• “Come, let's take this to my office,” Nikitia suggested and led the way.
• In the office, Nolan was in a serious mood and declined to take a seat. “Are you insinuating that I'm a thief?” Nikitia teased
• “The only thing that I know about you is that you like sniffing strangers,” Nolan replied, sending Nitikia into laughter. “You are funny, maybe I accidentally took your pager. Why don't you ask me out,”
• Nolan looked at her weirdly and now was convinced that she needed to be in a psychiatric ward. “You stole my pager and now you want me to take you out?” A very annoyed Nolan asked.
• “In case I did take it, I will come and hand it to you over dinner,” Nikitia replied.
• “This is blackmail, who is your supervisor?”
• Nikitia walked to where Nolan was standing and smiled. “Do you have a girlfriend?”
• Nolan chuckled but asked, “you come at men weirdly.”
• “I have been told,” she replied while moving closer to him. She just needed to take in his scent. She had been fighting the edge but couldn't handle it anymore. Maybe he was her mate she thought to herself but there was chemistry going on between the two.
• Nolan noticed her moving towards him and quickly spoke “hey no Sniffing, I will take you on a date just one date bring my pager. No funny games.” he stated and left the room without giving her time to celebrate. Nikitia's wolf was now almost going crazy inside her. This time it was worse than before and more confusing. She held on to her desk and tried to restrain herself.  Nolan her mate???? it can't be.
• Outside the police department, Danica and Sebastian arrived. They were about to enter when Danica's sixth sense heard the order. She looked up at the opposite building and she could smell the sniper gun. “she has landed, echo one do you copy. I have the target in my sight,” the sniper said.
• “Echo two, we copy one bullet to the head,” the man from the transmitter replied.
• As soon as the sniper pulled the trigger, Danica screamed at everyone to get on the floor, “everyone down!” she yelled on top of her voice. Those that heard her went down. Noticing that he had missed, the sniper began shooting randomly. Danica and Sebastian had to half shapeshift to evade the bullets. They were still in human form but their legs and knees, which they needed to quickly jump into the police department for cover, shifted for a split second.
• But Danica miscalculated and landed on someone, her claws were still out and her eyes were her golden color. She was groaning furiously in anger and her wolf wanted out. But when she looked at the terrified man below her who was half-frozen in shock, her heart stopped for a mini second and her wolf calmed down. 
• Nolan closed his eyes and opened them again. He was confirming if the lady on top of him really had sharp long canines and if she was really breathing like an animal. The old Nolan would have freaked out especially if he was terrified with anything with four legs be it cats or dogs but somehow what he was seeing was calming him down.
• Danica realized that some of her wolf features were showing, she quickly hid them and Nolan swallowed hard. They both stared at each other weirdly, it was like they knew each other.
• She slid her hand into his hand which sent electrical sensations into both of them and Nolan quickly snapped out of the frozen state and asked, “Would you please get off of me,” He wasn't sure if he was hallucinating or if this was real. When Danica landed on him he had hit his head really hard.
• But Danica got closer to him and took his scent which seemed to be calming down her wolf. For years she fought her wolf to stay in but to no avail. She lay on his chest and began listening to his heart which seemed to be beating very fast but to her, it sounded like sweet music. Nolan was so confused and just lay there.
• Nikitia who heard the commotion in her office came out with her gun drawn and a sight of Danica on top of Nolan sent spikes down her core and she almost shapeshifted but Sebastian held her and let out a small howl. “Nikitia people are watching?” But Nikitia's Wolf wanted to tear Danica into pieces. “control yourself?” Sebastian warned.
• Nikitia breathed in and pushed Sebastian, “let go of me!” Sebastian let go of her and she walked to where Danica was lying on top of Nolan. Immediately Danica's wolf sensed her angry wolf; she became protective, grabbed Nolan, and shielded him from her. Seeing this Nikitia's wolf tried coming out again. Danica Was holding something that belonged to her while Danica's wolf also felt that it was protecting what belonged to her. 
• Nolan was confused, the stranger was holding onto him like a baby, he tried freeing himself but the lady was too strong for him. “Excuse me, ma'am, would you kindly let go of me,” he pleaded but Danica held on to him tightly. Even though he was enjoying her warm hug it was so awkward. His entire life he has been looking on his shoulders because of his family but in this woman's embrace, he felt safe. She was too warm and smelled very good. He wondered what type of perfume she had on because it was sending his hormones in all the wrong places. 
• Other officers were busy taking the injured into safety and were not aware of a feud building up in the corner.
• “Get away from him!” Nikitia yelled out.
• “Come and make me!” Danica replied.
• Nolan could recognize that it was Nikitia even though he could not see her because the lady had his face placed in her perfectly shaped cleavage. He was somehow enjoying this.
• Sebestian finally tried mind linking Danica
• {Danica people are watching, what are you doing}
• {Sebestian it's him,} she replied telepathically
• {What do you mean} A confused Sebestian asked
• {MY MATE} she replied.
