• We finally got home after the long drive and I felt completely exhausted. My body was tired from all the traveling and all the excitement we had shared. Mateo looked just as worn out as I was. We barely spoke as we walked into the house. The familiar rooms felt comforting after so many new places. We went straight to the shower together letting the warm water wash away the tiredness from the journey. Mateo washed my hair gently and I leaned against him feeling safe in his arms.
