Chapter 8: Memories

• Ann fell fast asleep after breakfast. When she woke up, it was already a little late. After bathing, Ann went around and found the big house was a little bit empty. J. Carter was nowhere to be seen. Ann sighed and plopped down on the sofa in the spacious living room. The last few days, her life had turned upside down. Making love over breakfast with Jake was the best thing Ann had felt in the past few days. Her life had been bland and flat all this time, but now Ann felt truly alive.
• That's right, and Ann had to reorganize her life. After divorcing Hans Graham, she did not own much property and assets. The Grahams had bought her father's distribution company to pay off debts. Unfortunately, Ann's father's house caught fire and was destroyed. Her father had died from serious burns and had been in a coma for some time. Fortunately, the Grahams were willing to take on the business debt and pay for his father's hospital treatment on the condition of transferring ownership of the company.
• Ann's eyes filled with tears as she reminisced. When she was alone, Hans Graham came to see Ann's father in the hospital and comforted Ann every day. He was a savior for Ann. It was Hans Graham who gave Ann temporary residence, and soon after, proposed to her. For Ann, who lived alone, without a home, with no possessions left, Hans Graham's proposal was a good thing that happened in her life. Ann fell in love with the kindness of Hans Graham, who was willing to take care of her, and her father, who was lying in a coma in the hospital.
