  • Rhea's eyes opened to a world of blistering light and splintering pain. Her head throbbed, muscles shrieked, and an icy, compressive weight was pressed against her wrists. She was in a stone cell, walls immovable and raw. Her hands were chained to the wall, silver cuffs burning her skin. The silver, she saw, was restraining her wolf. It was what was draining her, rendering her so small.
  • A silhouette of a man, his face twisted into a grimace. It was Darius Blackmaw, renegade Alpha, male who had tried to take her first. The male who now held her captive. He stepped out of the darkness, and his presence was a blow to the senses. He was tall, his body a cord of muscle, his eyes a hard, black emptiness.
