• “You have been staring at that map for hours,” Rhea said, her voice a gentle interruption to the silence in the library. Kai was hunched over a large, ancient map of the Blackrock Pack's territory, his fingers tracing the jagged lines of the border. It was late, and everyone else was asleep.
• "I am looking for a pattern," replied Kai, his voice barely audible. "Theon will not attack us without thinking. He is a hunter. He is smart. He will turn our weaknesses against us. He will turn our blind spots around. I am attempting to figure out what they are."
• What is our biggest weakness?" she asked, stepping back to stand behind him. She put her arms around his shoulders, resting her chin on his head. The scent of dust and old paper, a scent so particular to him, was comforting.
